Our Guide for Going Out (Through Books!)
It's the summer holidays! As a teacher, I get 6 weeks off with the little one so we've been out doing stuff, enjoying our time together as a family and milking as many offers and discounts we can find! I have a theory that there is a children's book for all occasions. This blog will put that to the test.
For each major attraction we visit, I will be posting some amazing picture books to get the most out of each attraction. And although most attractions are in Norfolk, I'm hoping you can transfer it to something similar if you don't live here. As always, let us know your thoughts on any social media site. The more contributions, the better!

Sea Life Centre (Hunstanton)
Sea Life Centres are everywhere and you can often get great vouchers. Even booking online saves you about a third. Anyway, if you go, here are some other fishy books we like...

Dinosaur Adventure
I mean, everyone loves dinosaurs, right? Dinosaur Adventure Park have really gone all out recently to provide an amazing family experience. Think a water park, indoor soft play, tree slides... basically it's a child's dream. And there are SO many great dino books to with it...
This wasn't intentional. I promise. But we also have a Dinosaur Package. Plus we did a #Top5Friday Twitter chat on the topic of best dinosaur books. So, without further ado, here is a tried and tested list of some excellent Dino books. And if you want to buy a wonderful present, we're still selling a dino package (link below!)
And since making this list, I have to include these two in our favourite dino books now. Gus, The Dinosaur Bus is a particular favourite!
Pensthorpe Natural Park
What an amazing day we had here. We walked the perimeter of the park, which was beautiful (have a look below at the dragonfly!). Plus it has probably the best play park around. I would go as far to say it's the best ever! There. I said it. Anyway, to get the most of our a day out in the countryside, why not check out the following books too?!
Pensthorpe is all about gardens and birds. We have a list already compiled from the Twitter community about gardens. But below are a few more suggestions about birds too. Lots to go on!
High Lodge - Thetford Forest
If you live in Norfolk or Suffolk, you've almost certainly been here. There's a Gruffalo trail, a music trail in the woods, amazing wooded play and so many activities for the older ones (biking, high ropes, segways)... Just a crackin' day out.
