August Charity - Marine Conservation Society
When we set up The Happy Book Club we wanted to do good. Primarily we encourage children and parents reading together in the hope that we foster a love of reading, learning and literacy later on in life. However, it was also important for us to raise profiles and donations to charities.
Each month we donate a percentage of each package to a related theme. This month's theme (as you know) was fish, so what better charity to promote that the Marine Conservation Society.
Their vision is:
Seas fit for life - clean seas and coasts that support abundant marine life, healthy fish stocks and enjoyment for all.
Please do check their website. It's amazing. They are constantly trying to raise awareness of campaigns and very regularly update their twitter feeds with news. Some of the campaigns include:
Protecting UK seas
Stopping outdoor balloon and sky lantern releases
Stop flushing wet wipes!
